I needed a mental challenge to help deal with some personal issues and have been needing to save some room so decided to combine one of my MEC's and it's computer. Here's where I'm at. My CPU came today (AMD Phenom II x2 @ 3.2) and I should have RAM soon and then can finish up. No permanent mods to MEC it can be reconfigured to completely stock in 20 or so minutes. PS DVD and HD mounted to inner roof. Gigabyte MB to floor n a modified chassis from another computer. This configuration will give me 2 PCI slots for EDS cards and leave room for 2 MEC modules. Hope it all works. Because of the length of our beloved EDS cards I had to extend and box in part of the back of the MEC. More pics after I finish later next week. The keyboard project I built has ADAT out and with an ADAT MEC module it should be sweet. Here's the thread on that build. Let me know if the more experienced among you foresee any possible pitfalls.

Wow, this is ultra cool Jim, do keep us posted. I'm always in for some good DIY projects. Here's my latest, trying to tame the severe heat coming from my ISA428 preamp after adding the D/A card.
Added a bigger heatsink with fan, new thermal compound and lifted the top cover but its back on the bench today. No turning back now, its a machined hole on the top cover for a 4" quiet fan.

Man, this was a bad design by Focusrite, bet ya that's one of the main reasons why all the newer models have a switching pwr supply instead of linear.

Update: Took the fan off the heatsink, added a 4" fan on the top cover and lowered the fan V to 8VDC, much better and quieter.
